Code Combat is a platform for students to learn computer science while playing through a real game. The terms of Code Combat do not state whether they provide any social interactions between students, teachers, or parents or whether users can make their information publicly visible to others. Code Combat does not require a child to disclose more information than is reasonably necessary to participate. In addition, Code Combat's terms state that they implement a variety of security measures when a user places an order enters, submits, or accesses their information. Lastly, the terms state parents can review, delete, and manage their child's information through account settings on the website or by emailing the vendor.

Privacy

The terms of Code Combat state they collect personal information and non-personal information from users of its service. If a child registers for the Service, Code Combat does not require a child to disclose more information than is reasonably necessary to participate. Code Combat's terms state that they do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to third-parties a user's personally identifiable information, except as described in this privacy notice. The policy also states that third parties will not have access to any personally identifiable information in the pupil record for any purpose. They also explain that CodeCombat will not use pupil records to engage in targeted advertising. Code Combat's terms state that they implement a variety of security measures when a user places an order enters, submits, or accesses their information. Lastly, should a data breach occur Code Combat will notify the affected users via email within 7 business days (or within 72 hours for certain categories of breach).

Code Combat's terms state they do not require a child to disclose more information than is reasonably necessary to participate in the service and users are able to change their personal information by logging into their account or by emailing the vendor. In addition, the terms state parents can review, delete, and manage their child's information through account settings on the website or by emailing the vendor. For the classroom version, the policy notes that student accounts for use in school settings can only be created with consent of a teacher.

The terms of Code Combat state they notify parents directly before collecting PII from their children and parents can give consent to data collection and creating accounts for their children by providing only the minimum necessary personal information needed during that account creation. Lastly, the terms state parents can agree to the collection and use of their child's information, but still not allow disclosure to third parties. The policy notes that various consents can also be withdrawn in the account settings.
